Cees Duivenvoorde

As a student in computer science – still dreaming of a career as a chess grandmaster – Cees Duivenvoorde started writing business software in his spare time in 1988 for regional entrepreneurs. Assignments soon started pouring in, so Cees started calling on fellow students and started to approach things in a more commercial way. Not much later, Duivenvoorde Software Engineering BV (DSE) was established and the service portfolio was expanded to include the supply and maintenance of IT infrastructures. Thirty years later, the DSE Group has about 70 employees spread over five companies and offices in Beverwijk and Utrecht. DSE is active in Artificial Intelligence, voice technology, IT managed services, IT Asset Management, Identity Governance and Automation and IT security, with customers throughout the Netherlands, including Rabobank, NS, KLM, Wolters Kluwer, ASR, Heijmans, the National Police, UMC Groningen, Medical Center Leeuwarden, Mendix, Riksja Travel and ICTRecht. Chess still plays an important role within DSE; DSE already organized the NK Corporate chess in 2016 and 2021 and DSE won the championship in 2017.
